Six Apart, LiveJournal Hit By Denial-of-Service Attack

"Since approximately 4:00 pm PDT, Six Apart has been the victim of a sophisticated distributed denial of service attack. This has affected all of Six Apart's sites, causing intermittent and limited availability for TypePad, LiveJournal, TypeKey, sixapart.com, movabletype.org and movabletype.com."

I has just updated my blog when the outage started, and when it hit the sixapart server, I knew something big was up. I wonder if they're getting hit by an extortion scheme?
